Facts of Lesser Importance

The final chapter of Lesson 1 discusses facts of lesser importance in today's business climate. Some of these points are:

  • Full-time or part-time status is neutral.

  • Place of work has little relevance in today's market place.

  • Off-site work is consistent with both independent contractor or employee status.

  • A business's requirement that work be performed where work is needed is generally irrelevant.

  • Flexible hours are consistent with both independent contractors and employees.

  • Work that is required to be performed at a specific time should not be confused with direction and control as to how work should be done, if it is the type of work that, by its nature, needs to be performed at a particular time.
